IC1848 Soul Nebula
An image captured last night with the Seestar S50 Pro, showing a portion of IC 1848—the Soul Nebula—in the constellation Cassiopeia. This is an emission nebula in which gas and dust are heated and subsequently ionized by nearby stars. Also known as Sharpless 2-199 and LBN 66, it is located 6,500 to 7,500 light-years from Earth within the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way. The image consists of 10-second sub-exposures taken with a light-pollution (LP) filter, processed using the Seestar app and Snapseed.
