IC1396A, better known as the Elephant's Trunk Nebula, is a striking concentration of interstellar gas and cosmic dust. This structure is located within the much larger emission nebula and star cluster IC 1396, situated in the constellation Cepheus at a distance of approximately 2,400 light-years from Earth.
